Birmingham: Today’s Show Vacation Destination for 2013

The cultural heritage and economic expansion of Birmingham,  Alabama has caught the eye of travel enthusiasts for 2013.  On January 1, 2013, NBC’s Today’s Show named Birmingham as one of the top vacation destinations for 2013. During the show’s special 2013 edition of Today’s Travel segment, Kate Maxwell of Jetsetter.com named Birmingham as one of the six must-see destinations for this “banner year.” Birmingham was noted as brimming with rich culture – highlighting the  commemorative 50th anniversary of the city’s involvement with the Civil Rights Movement and the production of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird.

The Alabama Humanities Foundation will host the 2013 National Federation of State Humanities Councils Conference in Birmingham, AL on November 7-10.
