For the past seven years as Alabama Humanities Foundation Programs and Development assistant, Cynthia Martin worked daily to promote the humanities in Alabama.
Now she is taking the lessons learned and teaching them at a school in Bangladesh. Her compassion and kindness for others is evidenced in her new adventure and serve to bolster the ideals we share in humanities work.
Cynthia’s journey will take her own Alabama brand of humanities to a world stage. It is much like English essayist, poet and playwright Joseph Addison once said, “What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to a human soul.”
