Teachers are invited to spend three days in historic Monroeville, Alabama, to study To Kill a Mockingbird, the novel and the movie. In addition to enjoying the atmosphere and sites of the town on which Maycomb, Alabama, is based, participants will attend sessions led by scholars (literature, history, and film) to discuss the origins and legacy of this masterpiece. A high-point of the teacher institute will be viewing the movie in the courtroom of the Monroe County Courthouse.
Lodging and all meals will be provided.
